Tips and Hints: Creating Attractive Albums

Using Scan Extractor (PhotoRecord Gold Version Only)

Scan Extractor is a great new wizard for PhotoRecord Gold that utilizes a clever photo-detection process. No longer do you need to line up a photo on your scanner and use your scanner software’s selection tool to select the photo area. You can even scan several photos at the same time!

What Scan Extractor does.
1. Place a few photos on your scanner glass. You can place them at odd angles if you like. Do not overlap photos. Make sure there is at least 5mm between each photo and don’t place them too close to the edge of the scanner glass. Close the scanner lid.
2. In PhotoRecord Gold, select File -> Scan Extractor. The Scan Extractor wizard launches.
3. Click Next to continue.
4. Select your scanner (if you have more than one device installed).
5. The third screen will ask you to select a resolution for scanning. 300dpi (dots per inch) is recommended for good quality images. Choose a suitable resolution and click Next.
NOTE: Your scanner driver software determines the range of selectable resolutions.

6. Choose the (base) name for the scanned images. Click Scan when ready.
7. A progress bar displays while scanning is underway.
8. The last screen tells you how many photos were detected. You can either scan some more photos or finish.
9. Photos are automatically imported into PhotoRecord Gold after scanning
